KS3 Teacher - Pupil Referral Unit

About the School: A dedicated Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) based in Cardiff catering to Key Stage 3-4 learners. Located in the heart of Cardiff, we provide a warm, caring, and stimulating environment where every student is given the opportunity to realise their potential and maximise their success. A capacity for 48 learners, with each class of 6 taught by qualified teaching staff and supported by a teaching assistant. We take pride in our learners’ achievements, with 100% leaving with a recognised qualification last academic year.

The Role: As a KS3 Teacher in our PRU, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to students who face various challenges. Your role will involve:

  • Implementing, monitoring, and evaluating a Key Stage 3 curriculum tailored to the needs of our students.
  • Developing and maintaining resources related to the KS3 curriculum.
  • Working closely with parents, carers, and other professionals to support the educational and emotional needs of the pupils.
  • Contributing to the overall school self-evaluation and quality assurance procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in behaviour management and working with children with additional learning needs.
  • Experience working in a similar environment.
  • A strong understanding of the KS3 curriculum and the ability to adapt it creatively to meet the needs of our pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Details:

  • This is a temporary long-term position starting in September.
  • The role is full time, Monday to Friday term time only
