REED Education are in need of a SEN Teacher in Smallfield!

Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year (M1 - UPS2 Fringe) Plus £5,000 Welcome bonus*
Location: Smallfield, Surrey
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher with SEN experience to deliver high-quality education at our school, catering to students aged between 6 – 16 with communication and social interaction difficulties, typically associated with Autism in a beautiful school in Smallfield.

The everyday:

  • Deliver and develop the curriculum, considering the educational, physical, and social needs of the students within a learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including therapy staff.
  • Utilise short, medium, and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised targets to optimise learning for each individual.
  • Assess, review, and report on student progress to parents, team members, and relevant bodies.
  • Develop lesson plans with a reflective approach to teaching outcomes.
  • Contribute to the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
  • Provide structured lessons with pace, motivation, and challenge.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field of autism to plan effective teaching and learning.

Mandatory required Skills & Qualifications:

  • PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching across a range of subjects.
  • Knowledge and experience with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profile students.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Experience managing a range of behavioural approaches, including behaviours that challenge.
