Job Title: SEN Teacher

Salary Scale: £150-210 per day dependent on experience

Are you an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher, ready to make a difference in the lives of students with SEN needs?

If you hold QTS (or equivalent NARIC qualification) and have at least 2 years of experience in teaching children with SEN, this opportunity could be your dream job! Because GSL Education London is searching for a SEN Teacher who would be capable to teach students with SEN needs. The school is based in Hackney and is an OFSTED rated ‘Outstanding’ SEN school.

What we require from our SEN Teacher:

  • Qualified and Committed: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent NARIC qualification and be dedicated to enhancing the lives of students with complex needs.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students with SEN, showing a strong understanding of their unique requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledgeable: Strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Right to Work: Hold the Right to Work in the UK to be eligible for this role.
  • DBS Check: Possess an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application through us.
  • References: Provide two professional child-related references to showcase your expertise and dedication.
  • Updated CV: Submit an updated CV highlighting your qualifications and experience.

SEN Teacher Requirements in the UK:

  • Strong educational background with QTS or NARIC equivalent.
  • Specialized knowledge in teaching students with Special Educational Needs.
  • In-depth understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

SEN Teacher Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Tailored Instruction: Create and deliver personalized lesson plans to meet the unique needs of students with complex needs.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, adapting as necessary to accommodate various abilities.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback, ensuring their development.
  • Individualized Support: Offer one-on-one support and intervention for students requiring additional assistance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff and parents, to provide the best possible educational experience.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest SEN teaching techniques and strategies through relevant CPD courses.
