SEND Teacher Specializing in ASC, MLD, SLD, and Speech & Communication Support

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Do you possess expertise in supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other speech and communication challenges? Our esteemed educational institution is on the lookout for a dedicated SEND Teacher to join our dynamic team. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and assistance to thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Education Health care Plan/ Individualised Education Plans (EHCPs/ IEPs): Design and implement personalized learning strategies and interventions to meet the unique needs of each student, with a particular focus on ASC, MLD, SLD, and speech and communication difficulties.
  • Deliver Engaging Lessons: Create and deliver stimulating and inclusive lessons that cater to varying abilities and learning styles, fostering a supportive and conducive learning environment.
  • Utilise Assistive Technologies: Incorporate appropriate assistive technologies and resources to enhance learning outcomes and facilitate communication for students with speech and communication challenges.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Work closely with parents, guardians, support staff, and external professionals to ensure holistic support and continuity of care for students, maintaining open lines of communication and fostering positive relationships.
  • Continued Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in SEND education, actively participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience working with students with ASC, MLD, SLD, and speech and communication difficulties within a SEND or mainstream educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of relevant educational frameworks, legislation, and best practices in SEND provision.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and compassionate approach towards supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies and materials to accommodate individual learning requirements.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
