Job Description: We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to join our team. As an SEN Teaching Assistant with Tradewind Recruitment, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, helping them to reach their full potential and achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students with special educational needs, assisting them with academic tasks and personal development goals.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to implement individualised education plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support, helping to create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents/guardians on a regular basis.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of individual students, ensuring accessibility and understanding.
  • Promote independence and self-confidence in students with special educational needs, empowering them to overcome challenges and achieve success.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs support are preferred but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents/guardians.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with special educational needs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to undergo checks.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
