Seven Education are looking for a long-term SEN teaching assistant to work at an Established Primary School in South East London.

The role:


We are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with specific expertise in supporting children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The successful candidate will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to provide individualized support and guidance, helping students with ADHD to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:


 Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with ADHD, assisting them with their learning activities and helping them to stay focused and engaged.

Implement strategies and interventions to support students' attention, impulse control, and executive functioning skills.

Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), teachers, and other support staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans tailored to students' needs.

Monitor students' progress and assess their learning needs, adapting support strategies as necessary to ensure their ongoing development and success.

Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to create a supportive and nurturing learning environment.

Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on students' progress and offering support and guidance as needed.

Maintain accurate records and documentation related to students' progress, achievements, and support interventions.

Qualifications:


 Previous experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, with specific experience supporting children with ADHD.

Knowledge of ADHD and its impact on learning and behaviour, as well as strategies and interventions to support students with ADHD in an educational setting.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the needs of students with SEN.

Relevant qualifications in education, SEN, or a related field are desirable but not essential.

Key information:

Pay is competitive and negotiable - £75 to £85 per day

Hours are full time
