Job title: SEN Learning Support Assistant

Location: Dagenham, Essex

Pay rate: £85-£100 (depending on experience)

Setting: Mainstream Secondary School

Start date: Immediate start

Duration: Long term with view to go permanent

Active Recruitment are working with an excellent mainstream Secondary school in Dagenham who are looking for an experienced SEN Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team of staff. The school is very friendly and welcoming in addition to providing a safe, inclusive environment for all students to feel valued. You will work classroom-based and closely with the teaching staff to support the development and educational progress of their students. The purpose of the SEN Learning Support Assistant role is to provide support to Secondary aged pupils with mild to moderate learning difficulties, mainly Autism & SEMH.

Requirements for the SEN Learning Support Assistant role:

  • The confidence to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skills to work appropriately and effectively with individual students
  • Able to promote their social and emotional development
  • Able to respond calmly and effectively to displayed behaviours
