Special Needs Teaching Assistants

Prospero Teaching are looking for staff to support a Special Needs school in Portsmouth. The school caters for pupils ages 4-11 who have special educational needs, with some of those having needs that are profound, complex or challenging. Staff will need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with the children and to support them with their learning and development.

The Role will consist of:

  • Providing tailored support and working with children with SEN and complex needs.
  • Supporting the class teacher in creating a safe environment that allows children and other students have fun, learn and make progress.
  • Academic support.

The Ideal candidate:

  • Experience of supporting pupils with SEN on a voluntary or paid basis OR/ experience of supporting those with complex needs in a care setting.
  • Driven, energetic and keen to pursue a career in education and special needs.
  • Has a strong commitment to team work and upholding the schools values.

Position Details:

  • LOCATION - Portsmouth (PO2)
  • POSITION - Special Needs Teaching Assistant
  • CONTRACT TYPE - Temporary - Permanent
  • MINIMUM DAILY RATE - £80
  • HOURS - Full time Monday - Friday 8.30am -3.30pm
  • START DATE - April 2024
