  • Contract: Full-time, Permanent
  • Salary: £31,350 - £46,179 per year PLUS £5,000 Welcome Bonus for Qualified Teacher with SEN Experience*

We are seeking a KS4 English Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist educational setting. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to autistic students aged between 11 – 16, who have associated behavioural and communication difficulties, as well as multiple learning difficulties.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a wide range of needs, with a focus on English for KS4.
  • Working collaboratively with other staff members as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Developing and maintaining short, medium, and long-term plans for delivering the curriculum.
  • Setting, monitoring, and reviewing personalised targets to optimise learning for each individual.
  • Assessing and reporting on the progress and work of students to various stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the development of the curriculum and staying informed on current issues in the field of autism.
  • Managing challenging behaviours within the school’s policy and procedures.
What do we need from YOU?
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience in a special school environment, particularly with pupils with ASC and SEND.
  • Proven ability to deliver a differentiated curriculum to pupils with a range of needs.
  • Desirable: Further qualifications in SEND.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with ASC/SEMH students with complex needs.
  • Understanding of the national curriculum and curriculum development for pupils with SEND, especially autism.
