Job Title: SEN Classroom Support

Location: Warminster, Wiltshire

About Us: Located in the heart of Warminster, our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Classroom Support to join our team, supporting the diverse needs of our students.

Position Overview: As a SEN Classroom Support, you will play a crucial role in providing individualized support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. You will work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student can reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to SEN students, assisting them with their learning activities and helping them to develop key skills and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support students in developing social skills, emotional resilience, and independence, empowering them to overcome challenges and succeed.
  • Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers and SENCO to inform ongoing support and intervention strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, collaborating to ensure the holistic development of students both inside and outside the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students is desirable but not essential; however, a genuine passion for supporting the educational needs of all students is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience in working with students who may face various challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and follow instructions effectively.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
