About the School:

A delightful school in Kings Heath needs 1:1 support for a little boy with complex needs. The school is nurturing, empathetic and well organised. The staff follow a well maintained school behaviour policy, the head is very pro-active and the staff are highly supportive. They are rated outstanding according to OfSted too; feedback has been highly positive and it is known to be a community orientated school.

Role Overview:

The school are seeking a dedicated and trained Unqualified Teacher to join our team in Kings Heath. The successful candidate will be assigned to work with a Year 1 pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

The role involves providing support to facilitate the student's academic progress and social integration. The school is ideally seeking a TEAM TEACH trained candidate - But we as an agency may also provide this training free of charge for the right person!

Key Responsibilities:

* Utilise Team Teach training to effectively manage challenging behaviour.
* Support the individual learning needs of the assigned pupil.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive environment.
* Implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
* Log any incidents that may occur
* Reward positive behaviour
* Teach on a 1:1 basis with a child who has SEMH needs

Qualifications and Experience:

* Team Teach certification is desirable.
* Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs.
* Relevant teaching assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Level 2-3 qualification in education or health and social care is essential
* Degree in education or child based studies is desirable
* Experience as a HLTA, UQT or TA
Personal Attributes:
* Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
