We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a welcoming Primary School in Middlesbrough. This role, starting in September 2024, offers a rewarding opportunity to work on a long-term basis via Reed Education, a trusted employment agency.

Role Details:

  • Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant
  • Start Date: September 2024
  • Hours: Full-time (5 days per week), 8.30am to 3.30pm
  • Pay: £85 to £95 per day

Responsibilities: As a 1:1 support for pupils with SEMH, you will:

  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting emotional well-being.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to create a supportive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to address individual needs.

Desirable Skills:

  • Empathy and Patience: Ability to connect with pupils aged 4 to 11 with SEMH.
  • Crisis Intervention: Confidence in managing challenging situations.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to tailor support based on individual requirements.
  • Effective Communication: Clear communication with students and colleagues.
