SEMH Support Worker

Start Date: September 2024

Location: Manchester

Pay Rate: £93-£100 per day

We are looking for individuals who have an interest in working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The successful applicant will be working as a behaviour mentor alongside a supportive staff team and undertake regular training.

The School caters to KS3 aged children up to year 10, who struggle to access education due to their learning needs, specifically you will support children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The role as an SEMH Support Worker will include undertaking structured and agreed learning activities/programmes, both on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, taking into consideration pupil learning styles.

You will be working with a high-quality team, dedicated to creative, social and physical development for their students as well as academic process. You will be able to use your creative skills applied to different students to help bring out their individual skills and personalities.

To be considered for the SEMH Support Worker position you will ideally be/Have:

  • Prior Experience working with children and yound people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs
  • Experience working with children within the past 2 years (Voluntary welcome)
  • The Ability to develop good relationships with pupils
  • Safeguarding knowledge or training
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to complete this)
  • Enthusiastic attitude towards inspiring children
