I work on behalf of a lovely primary school that is looking for a SEMH Learning Mentor to join their team. This school believes that all pupil’s education should be celebrated inside and outside of the classroom. As a mentor, you would have to obtain this moral, whilst supporting the faculty to achieve this. This school really values their community, so as a mentor, you would be joining a supportive and caring workplace. During your role, you will need to be adaptable and patient, as you will be working 1:1 with a SEMH student.

It is important to the school that all the staff are confident in their abilities, so you can drive the students to also achieve their best.This school is looking for a mentor that is compassionate, committed and has a strong sense of perseverance. This job requires 5 GCSEs (including Maths and English) and paid or voluntary required experience with children. A university degree is not required, but you must have a drive to uphold the education and moral standards within the school.

This role will include:

  • 1:1 work with a year 4 student

  • Building relationships with your key student and other people within the setting

  • Encourage positive behaviour

  • Supporting lessons and enrichment activities

  • Working alongside the school’s faculty
