Teaching Assistant
  • Salary: £12.82/hour
  • Location: Newport
  • Job Type: Full-time, Term-time only (1-year fixed-term contract)

Reed are working with a secondary school based in Newport who are looking for two Level 3 Teaching Assistants to join our inclusive and supportive environment. The successful candidates will be integral in supporting pupils with a variety of additional learning needs. Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support pupils in class and through targeted withdrawal sessions.
  • Plan and deliver small group intervention programmes tailored to specific learning needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
  • Recognise and celebrate student achievements and efforts.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos of care, value, and active listening within the school community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar role within primary or secondary education is preferable.
  • Understanding of supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including Specific Learning Difficulties, ADHD, physical disabilities, Autistic Spectrum Conditions, and developmental trauma.
  • Excellent role model with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to collaborative learning and improving life chances for all learners.
