Long Term Supply Level 3 SEN Teaching Assistant - South Birmingham Secondary School

Are you a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a large secondary school in South Birmingham? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to offer an exciting position as a long term Supply SEN Teaching Assistant. You will be working alongside SEND Intervention Coaches to provide essential support to students through in-class assistance, small group and 1-to-1 interventions, mentoring, and fostering strong parental partnerships.

The Role:

  • As a Long Term Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across secondary age groups.
  • Your responsibilities will include providing in-class support, facilitating small group and 1-to-1 interventions, and maintaining effective communication with students, staff, and parents.
  • The role is full-time and will commence ASAP, lasting for a minimum of one term initially with prospects of permanent opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with SEND Intervention Coaches to provide targeted support to students with SEN
  • Assisting in-class to create an inclusive learning environment
  • Conducting small group and 1-to-1 interventions to address individual needs
  • Building strong relationships with students and maintaining parental partnerships
  • Working collaboratively with the school team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently

Pay Rates:

  • As a Long Term Supply SEN Teaching Assistant, you will receive competitive daily pay rates ranging from £90 to £149, which are determined based on your experience and qualifications.
  • These rates will be paid via Tradewind Recruitment on a supply basis. Moreover, successful candidates have the opportunity to transition to a fixed-term contract with the school starting from September 2024.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting pupils with SEN across secondary age groups
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant NVQ
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
  • Desirable to have a degree-level education
  • Experience in supporting students with Global Development Delay would be advantageous but not essential
