Do you have a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for secondary school or an equivalent teaching certification required for this position?

In this role, you'll facilitate dynamic and interactive lessons that ignite student's curiosity and cultivate a profound appreciation for English language and literature. From delving into timeless classics to exploring modern poetry, you'll guide students through an enriching exploration, equipping them with indispensable skills for academic success and personal enrichment.

We're on the lookout for a committed teacher to join our educational team in Preston, offering guidance to students in KS3 and KS4. The daily pay rate for this role varies from £155 to £230, determined by your experience, qualifications, and teaching level.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a positive learning environment through professionally planned lessons and classroom displays
  • Using imagination and innovation to enhance the learning experience in children
  • Having control over the whole class and maintaining discipline
  • Adhering to the curriculum, including up to date changes in the structure
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Strong subject knowledge
  • Punctual and reliable

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal Attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
