We are seeking a dedicated PE Teacher/ Technician for an immediate start to support a vibrant Secondary School on a part time basis (Mondays & Tuesdays). The successful candidate will support both KS3 and KS4 year groups, playing a crucial role in the smooth running of the Physical Education department. This is an ideal position for someone who is passionate about sports and enjoys working in a dynamic educational environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support PE teachers during lessons, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Organise practical equipment, including preparation and storage before and after lessons.
  • Assist pupils with changing for PE lessons as necessary.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with the planning and implementation of PE activities and trips.
  • Arrange fixtures and produce fixture lists for various sports events.
  • Help with the organisation of special events such as sports presentation evenings, dance platforms, sports days, and open evenings.
  • Participate in departmental meetings to contribute to the development of the PE curriculum.
  • Liaise with grounds maintenance staff to ensure PE facilities are in excellent condition.
  • Coordinate with external coaches who run after-school clubs, ensuring a cohesive extracurricular program.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for sports and promoting physical education.
  • Flexibility to participate in events outside of regular school hours.
  • Newly Qualified Teachers (ECTs) or Cover Supervisors are encouraged to apply.
  • Right to Work in the UK (Visa Sponsorship not provided).
