Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic teaching assistant or graduate with experience supporting students with additional needs, for a secondary school in Trafford!

This is a full-time role, 5 days a week, paying up to £95 a day.

The Role:

Support students within the classroom, providing tailored guidance and encouragement. Supporting small groups and working one-to-one with students with additional needs including SEMH, ASD, behavioural needs, and ADHD. Collaborate with teachers, deliver small group instruction, and promote a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere. Help students build confidence and a passion for learning. Ideal candidates will have strong curriculum knowledge and will ensure the support they deliver is of excellent quality using innovative and engaging approaches.

Experience in roles such as a Sports or Activities Coach in football, basketball, rugby, cricket, athletics, gymnastics, hockey, badminton, tennis and handball, is often highly transferable experience for supporting behavioural issues.

Requirements:

  • Previous children-based work experience
  • Have an enhanced DBS certificate (or happy to apply for a new one)
  • CV with a full education and work history
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to different learning needs and styles
  • Commitment to supporting student development and well-being
  • Understanding of the UK Schools curriculum
