Secondary - Graphics and Design Technology Teacher

We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Teacher of Design Technology to join a highly large, improving comprehensive school in the Bishop Auckland area. The role is set to commence from Easter 2024 on a temporary basis and can become permanent for the right candidate. This position is ideal for a Teacher of Design Technology who is eager to work within a collaborative and innovative team, dedicated to delivering an outstanding education of excellence.

• Inspire, motivate, and challenge students within the Design Technology Department.
• Deliver a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding Technology curriculum.
• Work within our state-of-the-art Engineering and Design Centre to prepare students for future employment in the sector.
• Teach across various disciplines including design, engineering, and food technology, with a particular interest in candidates with a Food Technology background.
• Contribute to the department’s extracurricular activities and bespoke curriculum to enhance students’ learning experiences.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• A passion for Design Technology & Engineering
• Ability to set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.
• Strong subject and curriculum knowledge.
• Experience in planning and delivering well-structured lessons.
• Capability to adapt teaching to meet the needs of all students.
• Proficiency in making accurate and productive use of assessment.
• Effective behaviour management skills to ensure a good and safe learning environment.
