Our client, a nursing home located near Kingston-Upon-Thames, is currently seeking a Second/Sous Chef to join their team.
In this role, you will oversee the kitchen operations for most of the working week due to the nursing home's shift patterns.

Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising kitchen staff and assigning tasks as needed
* Managing meal preparation and service to uphold high standards
* Ensuring compliance with food and hygiene regulations set by the CQC
* Planning menus
* Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen area
* Conducting checks, audits, and risk assessments as per company policies
* Monitoring stock levels and budgeted ordering
* Assisting in deep cleaning of kitchen areas
* Coordinating staff schedules with the head chef
* Handling recruitment and training
* Supporting overall home security, such as managing visitor sign-ins and alarms
Ideal candidates will:
* Have a minimum of 12 month's experience in a similar supervisory/managerial role
* Possess Food & Hygiene Level 2 certification or higher
* Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills
* Have solid experience with COSHH
* Possess extensive knowledge of care home settings and CQC requirements

The salary for this position is £15 per hour (40-hour week).
You'll work alternate weekends, with a typical rotational schedule as follows: Week 1 - Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday Week 2 - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
