Sea Freight Import Operator

Our Client specialises in global logistics and international shipping and pride themselves on delivering an exceptional service to everyone they work with.  They are currently looking to appoint an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator, to join their team in Cheshire, on a full-time permanent basis . 

On a day-to-day basis you'll be dealing with companies worldwide, liaising with overseas agents / customers / hauliers, handling all aspects of imports from start to finish and everything in between, including charging files and processing purchase invoices.  Being a proficient communicator; in person, on the phone and in writing and having commercial sense are vital attributes to be a  successful Sea Freight Import Operator.

Sea Freight Import Operator duties include:

• Book new carriers and consignments on system daily
• Import Sea Freight daily transport administration
• Monitor and check arrivals / clearances / deliveries
• Price / source new suppliers for current transport lanes   
• Liaising with customer and suppliers on a daily basis
• Price negotiations with suppliers / customers
• Handling sales and purchase creation for each job
