Scientific Glass Blower

  • Location: east London (Essex)
  • Full-time and permanent role
  • Salary: competitive, dependent on experience
  • Monday to Friday

Reed Scientific are partnering with a well-established internationally recognised specialist laboratory equipment manufacturer and supplier. They are seeking a Scientific Glass Blower with experience working in a production environment and to exact tolerances to join their team.

Duties of the role include:

  • Working from technical drawings, sketches and verbal instructions
  • Glass forming work, using glass lathes and/or similar machines and freehand glass blowing
  • Hand finishing products to strict quality control specifications
  • Problem solving using your expertise
  • Maintaining tools and equipment
  • Providing training and support to other team members

Skills/experience required:

  • 5+ years’ experience in glass blowing
  • Experience working with quartz and pyrex materials
  • Experience in bench work and lathe work
  • Ability to work from technical drawings and other manufacturing instructions
  • Ability to work unsupervised and in a team
