Role Overview:

  • As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in facilitating practical experiments and demonstrations within the science department.
  • Your responsibilities will include preparing equipment and materials for experiments, ensuring they meet safety standards and are readily available for lessons.
  • You will collaborate closely with teaching staff to support the delivery of engaging and effective practical lessons, helping to inspire students' curiosity and interest in science.
  • Maintaining laboratory facilities and equipment in good working order will be an essential aspect of your role, promoting a safe and conducive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician is essential for this role, ideally within a secondary school setting.
  • A strong understanding of health and safety procedures related to laboratory work is necessary to ensure the well-being of students and staff.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage resources efficiently are crucial for effectively supporting teaching staff and students.
  • A passion for science and a desire to contribute to the educational development of young people is fundamental to this role.
