Tradewind Recruitment are seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a positive and vibrant secondary school in Sandbach. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in preparing materials, equipment, and resources for practical science lessons, helping to inspire and engage students in their scientific education.

Position: Science Technician

Location: Sandbach

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential to become Permanent)

Pay: £80 - £100 per day

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing materials, chemicals, and equipment for science experiments and demonstrations
  • Setting up and dismantling laboratory equipment and apparatus
  • Ensuring the safe storage and disposal of hazardous substances
  • Assisting teachers and students during practical lessons
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in science laboratories and storage areas
  • Conducting routine maintenance and calibration of scientific equipment

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar role
  • A passion for science and a desire to support student learning
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and general procedures in a laboratory setting for safe practice
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
