Science teacher - Rochdale - September

A dedicated and passionate Science Teacher is required to work at a large School in Rochdale, to join them teaching key stage 3 and 4 from September, on an ongoing basis, until Easter, but likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed professionals who are relentless in their pursuit of excellence to provide the best possible education for all our students. You will have the ambition to support the schools young people to on to lead both happy and successful lives

You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. A key focus in the classroom is AfL which helps guide teaching, throughout the whole school.

This is a good school that is well established in the area. Students readily assume leadership roles such as volunteering in the library, helping younger pupils to read and by being student leaders. The pupils believe that the school feels like one big family with support from all members of staff. The behaviour in class and around the school is exemplary, which allows teachers to teach to a high standard and maintain positive relationships. The teaching does not end in the classroom with extracurricular activities such as sports, music and LGBTQ+ club.

Duration 2 terms

Contract type Temporary

Minimum daily rate £153.85 per day.

Hours 8:15am 4pm

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree with a good classification, preferably in science connected subject.

Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B. Ed, QTS, etc) as a Science Teacher

Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference)

Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference)

Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training)

Up to date Prevent awareness & FGM training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training)

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

Hold Right to Work in the UK

Have a valid and recognised teaching qualification with QTS

Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.20.

Provide a minimum of two professional references.
