Specialist Science Teacher

We are seeking a talented and dedicated Science Teacher to join our dynamic team, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This role offers a unique chance to inspire young minds and support students with special needs on their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver high-quality science lessons tailored to the diverse needs and abilities of students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring accessibility and differentiation for learners with special educational needs.

  2. Inclusive Learning: Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential, including those with special educational needs such as Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Dyslexia, or ADHD.

  3. Individualised Support: Provide personalized support and guidance to students with special needs, adapting teaching strategies and resources to meet their specific learning requirements and maximize their academic progress.

  4. Assessment and Feedback: Use a variety of assessment methods to monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback, identifying areas for development and implementing targeted interventions where necessary.

  5. Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with colleagues, support staff, and external agencies to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with special educational needs, ensuring a coordinated and holistic approach to their education.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification, with a strong background in science education.
  • Experience teaching science at Key Stages 3, 4, and/or 5, with a proven track record of delivering engaging and effective lessons.
  • Understanding of the diverse needs of students with special educational needs and the ability to adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for enhancing teaching practice to meet the needs of all learners.
