Science Teacher - Tameside - September 2024

We are specifically working with a 'Good' secondary school in Tameside looking for a Science Teacher, who are working exclusively with ourselves, to join them teaching Science key stage 3 & 4 from ASAP, on an ongoing basis, likely to be for the full academic year on a full-time basis.

You will be required to become fully immersed in the department, attend departmental meetings and be available for parents' evenings as and when required. As well as deliver lessons that are both engaging and academically appropriate to stretch the students in the classes.

This is a school that the students feel safe in and happy to attend, with a strong sense of pride in their own school. The leaders' expectations for behaviour are high but these high expectations are matched by the students. The students are punctual and show enthusiasm when it comes to their education. There are also chances to get involved in other activities outside of the classroom: range of sports, drama clubs and the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The role will be open to newly qualified teachers (ECT) as well as teachers who have more experience, we pay from M1 to M6 (sometimes we can also pay through threshold if you have done so, depending on the role).

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated with a good classification (2:2).
  • PGCE and QTS
  • Previous experience working of working with young people (which we can reference).
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, however training can be provided).
  • Up to date prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, however, training can be provided).
  • Up to date behaviour management & FGM training in the last year (essential, however, training can be provided).

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new application.
  • Provide two professional children related references
