Randstad is actively searching for an enthusiastic and dynamic Secondary Education Science Teacher to join our dedicated team in supporting a school situated in Wigan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in moulding the minds of our students and instilling a passion for science within the secondary education curriculum. This position commences in April after half-term, extending through the summer holidays on a long-term basis. Following this, there will be a review in the summer, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to continue into September.

Position: Secondary Education Science Teacher

Location: Wigan

Start Date: April 2024 (Post half-term)

End Date: July 2024 (Potential continuation in September for the new academic year)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing, and updating curriculum plans
  • Teach allocated classes and create a well-planned, challenging, and purposeful learning environment
  • Foster self-directed learning approaches, utilising technology to support learning
  • Utilise assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Assign and promptly assess homework assignments
  • Ensure high-quality teaching and learning occur
  • Address immediate problems/emergencies according to school policies and procedures
  • Respond to student inquiries
