Saw Operative

Interaction Recruitment are working with a well established company based in Chesterfield who due to expansion are looking for Saw Operative to join their growing team on a permanent basis.

Salary: £25k - £28K

Working Monday - Friday Days only
Monday - Thursday 7:45am - 4:45pm
Friday - 7:45am - 2:15pm

Job Responsibilities:

• Checking off and booking in supplier deliveries and allocating items to production or to stock.
• Liaising with fabricators and goods in team leader to carry out the daily cutting schedule in line with the production schedule.
• Maintaining the band-saw, replacing blades and organising the saw shop in line with 5s requirements.
• Stock control and management to agreed limits.
• Issuing of requisitions to purchasing team for production and packaging consumables.
• Final inspections of products prior to despatch.
• Packing, palletising, and shrink wrapping of finished goods ready for dispatch.
• Collation and organisation of paperwork for vending machine, despatch, and from suppliers.
• Offloading and loading of deliveries from supplier/to customer on FLT.
• Liaise and communicate with functional areas including production, finance etc.
• Make recommendations for improving stores and saw shop operation.
• Carrying out deliveries to cover holidays and busy periods.
• Adherence to all health and safety guidelines.

Experience Required:

• Proactive with excellent organisational skills and a positive approach to continuous improvements.
• Confident setting up the band-saw and operating to mm tolerances.
• Organised and methodical approach to working.
• Clean driving licence.
• FLT licence.
• Knowledge of engineering and welding consumables would be an advantage.
• Excellent team-working and communication skills.
• Self-motivated with a hands-on approach.
• Excellent housekeeping skills in line with 5s requirements.
