Competitive benefits including a manufacturer-backed staff car scheme and contributory workplace pension scheme. A stable career, fantastic opportunities to develop within the Simon Bailes Group by giving supported training and providing an environment where we encourage personal growth, 22 days of holiday (exclusive of bank holidays) which increases with service along with various other benefits.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a successful background in motor sales or sales management, to move into a more strategic sales planning and team development role with a growing independent dealership that delivers excellence and transparency at every turn of the wheel.

We’re Simon Bailes; established 45 years ago and since 1985 we’ve been the trusted partner of Peugeot through our three dealerships in the North East. We’ve built an enviable reputation through our welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable service standards, and ensure our customers stay in control of their car purchasing journey, reassuring and supporting them at every stage of the process.

In this role you’ll lead the development of our sales strategy for all vehicles, accessories and finance products in close collaboration with our marketing team. You’ll set our budgets, motivate and develop our sales team’s effectiveness and performance, ensuring that we continue to grow our local profile and our revenue.

In particular you will:

  • Combine the sales, marketing and PR activity to create a unified plan that maximises our potential across all revenue streams, ensuring regular monitoring and reporting of success against targets.
  • Develop a team of high-performing sales professionals through guidance, support, the nurturing of their skills and an interpersonal style that mirrors our values and commitment to our premium customer service standards.
  • Ensure all our administrative processes support the smooth running of our sales activity and enable everyone to perform their key tasks effectively.

You will already be able to demonstrate a successful accredited sales track record but maybe you are looking to further your development in a broader role where you can play a more strategic part in an organisation’s future direction. Or you will already be in a Sales management role looking to move to a smaller, independent dealership where your voice and opinions matter.

We expect you to bring a high degree of professionalism, strong communication skills at all levels and the ability to set high standards in everything from team performance to showroom display. You’ll balance the tactical challenges with the more strategic focus required with tenacity and energy.

We’re fiercely independent, balancing the strengths of our roots with the agility needed to predict industry changes. If you haven’t already worked in an independent business, you’ll need to align with our values and ethos but in return, we’ll give you the freedom and accountability you may not get in a larger group.

If you are interested and have the relevant experience we are looking for, then we would love to hear from you. Please send your CV. We will respond to all applications within 5 working days of receipt. And if successful, virtual interviews will be held the week commencing 6th May 2024. Face to face interviews will be held on 15th May 2024, so please ensure you are available to attend.
