Accounts Receivable Manager
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Croydon
  • Hybrid 3 office 2 home
  • Salary: £45,000 to £55,000

We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to lead our Accounts Receivable function. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving efficiency improvements, increasing automation, and ensuring timely collection of income. This role requires excellent communication and engagement skills to maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Manage receivables processing in line with agreed Service Levels, including all income sources such as ESFA, Local Authority, Capital, and Donation Income.
  • Maintain positive customer engagement and keep customers informed about payments.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable team to ensure accurate and efficient operation of the debtors control accounts and sales ledger.
  • Ensure smooth operation of the receivables process with adequate checks to ensure correct income receipt.
  • Complete employee income processing and auditing on time and in accordance with internal policies.
  • Address problems and issues promptly in line with service levels.
  • Develop and maintain management reporting on key performance indicators to track performance improvements.
  • Maintain high data quality for maximum effectiveness of end-to-end processing.
  • Drive team efficiencies and effectiveness in processes, data, and systems to improve the process workflow.
  • Lead a motivated team to deliver accurate and timely Receivables information and results.
  • Engage effectively with key stakeholders to develop strong, positive relationships.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in Accounts Receivable leadership roles, managing high-volume transactions across complex structures.
  • Knowledge of accounting and VAT principles for accurate VAT returns.
  • Experience in driving improvements within an Accounts Receivable function.
  • Track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Fusion or similar complex financial systems, such as SAP.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Holistic performance assessment skills with the ability to identify key improvement areas.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Effective time management and organisational abilities.
  • Strong people management skills with a focus on training and development.
