Sales Engineer & Estimator required for an engineering company based in Diss. 80% of clients are based locally in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Sales Engineer & Estimator Position Overview

• Create timely and accurate estimates and quotations from customer enquiries which meet

customer expectations and service standards.

• Undertake material and labour take-offs from drawings and site surveys to ensure accurate

estimates and quotes are produced.

• Effectively use dedicated software to ensure accurate estimates and quotes are produced and to

maintain accurate data.

• Accurately calculate the hours required to undertake manufacturing work to ensure profitability

targets are met.

• Prepare accurate cost budgets and cost estimates for existing and new customers to facilitate effect

monitoring.

• Calculate accurate costs of labour, materials and equipment hire, working with the engineering

team as appropriate to the job to ensure revenue and profitability targets are met.

• Negotiate best possible prices with suppliers to maximise profit margins and achieve targets.
• Collating detailed price lists for all aspects of each job to ensure complete and comprehensive

quotes are provided to customers.

• Work effectively with the design team and wider operational team to ensure a timely and quality

service delivery.

• Build productive relationships with customers and potential customers to understand their

requirements and gain feedback on estimates and quotations.

• Attend pre-contract and site meetings as required to build lasting and effective customer

relationships and provide a quality service.

• Provide technical expertise and support to customers throughout the sales process

Sales Engineer & Estimator Position Requirements

• fabrication/sheet metal/pipe fitting estimating: 3 years (required).
• Proven experience in technical sales or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles and concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using CRM software to manage customer interactions and track sales activities.
• Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset
• Technical Sales: 1 year (required)

Sales Engineer & Estimator Position Remuneration

Salary: £40,000.00 - £50,000.00 per year
