A progressive position, this is a fantastic opportunity for a sales-orientated Administrator who is looking for an opportunity where they can progress into a sales role. Initially, you’ll be joining as a Sales Order Processor to cover a period of maternity leave, which will give you a good grounding to take the step up to Internal Sales Coordinator, a position you’ll begin once the period of maternity has ended.

Based in Birmingham, this unique manufacturer has been established for over a century and works with big-name brands across the country and even further afield! Luckily for us, we have partnered with this company for a number of years now, so can vouch for their reputation and ongoing growth, which has been steady and well thought-out and why they are looking to hire on a permanent basis rather than just cover a period of maternity.

Progression comes as standard here, which means it’s a role suited to someone who is genuinely looking to pursue a career in sales and wants a foot in the door, or someone who has already enjoyed being part of a sales environment and wants to further their career within a company that’s steeped in history.

What’s in it for you?

  • Work hours: 8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday with a 4pm finish on a Friday
  • Salary: £22,000 to £24,000
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays and 6 days compulsory leave

Responsibilities:

  • Providing top-tier sales administration support to the sales team
  • Processing customer orders, ensuring all order information is accurate and completed to deadlines
  • Setting up new customers to the CRM system and ensuring all existing data is maintained and up to date
  • Preparing invoices and sharing them with customers
  • Liaising with customers over the phone, via email, and in-person to effectively handle incoming queries
  • Providing receptionist services, which includes greeting visitors, providing refreshments, and taking care of post

As the role progresses, you will climb the ranks to Sales Coordinator and will be responsible for:

  • Creating in-depth customer quotations and processing orders within agreed timeframes
  • Closing sales and furthering business by following up on outstanding quotations
  • Using your product knowledge to effectively promote products, upsell, and cross-sell
  • Keeping abreast of stock levels and delivery dates, feeding back to customers
  • Supporting the Commercial Manager with sales activity

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrates excellent administration skills which have been gained in a sales environment
  • Detail-orientated and methodical, able to work with accuracy and complete work to a high standard
  • Strong communicator who is confident liaising with customers and internal departments including sales, purchasing, and production
  • Shows a real interest in sales and is keen to pursue a career within the field and learn
  • Superb time management and organisation skills, able to effectively juggle a busy workload
  • Able to influence, negotiate, and identify opportunities
