South East c30-65k + Commission

Location: South/Midlands

As a key field sales and business development manager you will be a committed, diligent and inspiring sales professional with at several years’ experience in a sales / business development orientated role. You may also be someone who has been in an internal sales role and now wishes to be field based! (different levels can be accommodated for)

You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and ideally have an understanding of the manufacturing sector. You will also be commercially minded with strong business acumen and good computer literacy skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver the sales targets, margin enhancement and profit projections within the realms of the UK customer base by ensuring product mix, pricing, standardisation and NPD
  • Be the focal point for the management of relationship with its customers, ensuring the relationship is proactive
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets to ensure the business achieves its wider commercial objectives;
  • Engaging with key decision makers within manufacturing companies to maintain a healthy pipeline of potential new business;
  • Negotiating with customers at all levels to secure business and improve margins;
  • Build and strengthen client relationships to achieve long-term partnerships;
  • Maintain accurate client records on the internal CRM system, keeping track of any changes to customer data and contract updates;
  • Develop a thorough understanding of products and service offerings to better upsell and cross-sell to existing clients;
  • Attending trade exhibitions, conferences and meetings across an array of different sectors;
  • Liaising with the wider business to strengthen market intelligence, strategise brand positioning and increase the number of sales leads;
  • Preparing and delivering sales reports on a weekly basis.
  • This role may also involve an element of international travel for the purpose of business meetings.
  • Foster new customer engagement within the UK, and networking of targeted accounts, representing the company, increasing the current UK sales

Qualifications and Experience

  • Background in scientific discipline
  • Must be self-disciplined to organise field based sales and travel
  • Committed, diligent and inspiring sales professional with experience in a sales-orientated role.
  • You will possess excellent communication and organisational skills and ideally have an understanding of the manufacturing / possibly chemicals / biotech sector.
  • Commercially minded with strong business acumen and good computer literacy skills.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales target
  • High levels commercial acumen. Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to understand technical information and promote products and innovations.
  • Ability to travel as required with the role. Mainly South and Midlands
