Sales Account Manager - Automotive 

The Opportunity:

Are you a seasoned Sales Account Manager with proven experience of hunting for you new business, selling within the automotive manufacturing industry?  If so, we have a fabulous role looking after a number of major automotive customers throughout the UK.  You will be based in the Exeter office where you will make appointments, look after your customers over the phone, and then travel throughout the country to visit them on site.  You must have sales experience within the OEM Automotive sector to prove successful in this role.  

Job Responsibilities:

  • To actively sell a quality, manufactured product to key accounts within the automotive manufacturing sector throughout the UK.
  • You will work out of the Exeter office, making your own business development calls to existing clients, arrange service visits, but very much be required to up-sell products and increase business turnover. 
  • Utilise your experience of the automotive sector, or your interest in 'all things car related' AND your proven sales experience to maximise business potential.
  • Identify, generate, convert and successfully manage new and existing business opportunities/ customer accounts.
  • To lead a structured sales process, including qualifying leads, quoting, negotiating and converting, ensuring consistent and profitable business growth.
  • Provide and support the preparation of accurate sales forecasts/ trends for monthly, quarterly and annual analysis by business stakeholders.
  • Ensure databases and internal housekeeping is kept up to date with contact details and correspondence.
Preferred Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years Sales or Key Account Management experience within an OEM manufacturing/ engineering/ technical environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have a successful and demonstrable track record of managing, developing and growing business opportunities.
  • Excellent experience/ understanding of full sales processes and how it integrates into wider business operations.
  • Strong commercial acumen, conscientious with the ability to display tenacity and resilience, with proven customer relationship management experience.
  • Demonstrable presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
Associated Benefits:
Frequent travel to automotive manufacturers nationally is required in this role.  A pool car will be available to you for the first 6 months during your probationary period.  A full driving license is required.

Working Hours:
Hours 8.30-5.0 M-T with a 3pm finish on a Friday
