Role Overview

This is an opportunity to join a friendly and energetic team with a diverse workload spanning rural professional practice, and with a core of retained estate management work and associated strategic consultancy. The immediate team consists of two directors, two residential property managers, a qualified surveyor, and two graduates. The work of the team is also ably supported by two rural assistants dealing with administration and secretarial support for the team. The role would be based in Truro with reach throughout the wider south west.

The Truro Rural Management Team has an actively collaborative approach, and operates as part of the larger multi-disciplinary Savills Truro office, alongside teams delivering a range of services including rural professional services, valuation, building surveying and residential agency. The team also works closely with other Savills specialists in the region in areas such as farm business consultancy, forestry, planning, development, forestry and leisure. The local and regional team is supported by the almost-limitless knowledge, resources and research within the national and international Savills network, and as an integral member of the team you will be expected to liaise with your counterparts across the country and to contribute to business development throughout Savills both within and beyond the rural division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve the existing client base as the lead in the client relationship, and contribute to the growth of the business and it's profile in the region.
  • Support and work collaboratively with the Director in the office in the management of the team and line managing reporting directly to you.
  • Managing existing and future client relationships as well as seeking out further opportunities for our business in Cornwall and beyond.
  • Day to day running of rural estates and property, reporting to clients direct.
  • Assist in the strategic advice to clients.
  • Provision of advice for landlord and tenant, rent reviews and property management.
  • Building rapport with colleagues, clients, tenants, contractors and suppliers.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow and expand the business.

Key Skills

  • Must be either MRICS and/or FAAV qualified
  • The ability to engage with a variety of audiences
  • Good relationship and management and communication skills
  • The ability to deal with conflict and provide resolution
  • Self-motivated, goal driven and the ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Commercially aware, but with ability to vary approach dependent on circumstances

The successful candidate will be joining the Truro Estate Management Team. We specialise in providing strategic and day to day management advice to a variety of clients, both private clients and institutional, throughout Cornwall and the south west.
