Role Overview

An opening has arisen for a Rural Surveyor to support an expanding and busy Estate Management team. The team provides core management and consultancy services in the rural, agricultural and residential sectors across Scotland. With a unique and varied workload, the role requires someone proactive and who wishes to make a difference to the team. The team are involved in a wide variety of work across Scotland including land management, natural capital, leisure and tourism, landlord & tenant, farm and estate strategic reviews and renewables. We are committed to taking on the right person who is aspirational and wants to develop their career to the next level providing advice to clients on a number of land management aspects.

Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of management services for farms and estates
• Consultancy advice, including strategic reviews rural businesses
• Involvement in natural capital, diversification, compulsory purchase and other specialist areas
• Landlord & Tenant: lease negotiations, rent reviews, lease renewals, negotiated lease renunciations
• Compulsory Purchase and Utility work: experience dealing with claims and processes arising from utility works

Team Overview

The Rural Management department in Perth is a fast-paced department made up of 3 Directors, 1 Associate Director, 4 surveyors including graduates, and 1 Senior administrator within a multi-disciplined office of 60 staff. Our Perth management team work with private landowners and farmers, as well as larger institutional clients such as charities, local authorities and government agencies on all aspects of rural land agency. Working from the Perth office allows the candidate to cover a wide geographic area and to work in varying land types and within a diverse and dynamic office which includes colleagues from Savills Earth, Food and Farming, Forestry, Planning, Professional and ABS teams. Due to the varying land types and clients it provides for a varied and enjoyable role covering many aspects of land management.
