We are recruiting for an experienced Montessori Room leader to join a lovely nursery in based in Putney, Greater London. Candidates will need to have excellent communication skills, an interest in child development and a good working knowledge of EYFS

Person Specification:

NVQ level 3 Childcare qualification 

Experience of working in a childcare setting and supporting children’s development  

Track record of involvement in Ofsted Inspections

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Desirable)

Paediatric First Aid (Desirable)


Some of the Montessori Room leader responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a role model and directing staff in the room
  • Carrying out risk assessments
  • Compliance with EYFS and planning exciting age appropriate activities
  • Key worker responsibilities, observing children and recording their development
  • Building positive relationships with parents
  • Working to nursery policy and procedures in relation to Safeguarding, Health & Safety
  • Attending parent’s evenings and supporting open days
  • Working 40 hours per week
