Romani EAL (English as an Additional Language) Learning Support Assistant - Dover

Job Description:

Academics, Canterbury are currently working with a "Good" school in Dover who are seeking a dedicated Romani EAL (English as an Additional Language) Learning Support Assistant to provide face to face, 1:1 support to a student in their care. The ideal candidate should be fluent in either Czech or Slovakian to effectively communicate with their Romani-speaking student.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individualised support to their Romani student to learn English as an Additional Language.
• Assist this student in understanding and completing assignments.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents/carers.
• Support students in developing language and literacy skills.

Requirements:

• Fluency in either Czech or Slovakian.
• Experience working with EAL students preferred but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and understanding towards students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
