Murray Myers are very pleased to be assisting their client, an engineering business with the recruitment of a Risk Manager based in Wolverhampton.

The Programme Risk Manager will lead the Risk Management efforts across the organisation and will be an integral member of our support function helping to define, maintain and standardise the processes and procedures that are in place to aid successful project delivery.

As part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team, you will be a self-motivated, influential and dynamic leader who excels at fostering collaboration, engaging stakeholders, and driving successful outcomes through effective risk management practices.

Key Activities / Decision Areas

Responsibilities:
- Maintain and implement existing and new risk management strategies that foster collaboration and engagement across the organisation.
- Cultivate a risk-aware and proactive risk management culture by promoting open communication, transparency and dialogue amongst the project teams and stakeholders.
- Lead risk workshops and ad-hoc meetings to facilitate open communication and dialogue, encouraging participation and input from all stakeholders.
- Lead on risk management training to enhance organisational understanding.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and prioritise risks associated with business operations, projects, and other initiatives.
- Govern and assure the implementation of risk management processes and controls across projects to mitigate identified threats and enhance identified opportunities effectively.
- Facilitate deep dive exercises into the monitoring and evaluation of effective and non-effective risk treatment strategies across live projects and offer suggested adjustment strategies to aid successful project delivery.
- Provide guidance, mentoring and support to teams in the development and execution of risk management practices.
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor on risk-related matters, providing insights and recommendations to enable informed decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to risk management.

Essential role related knowledge, technical skills, qualifications and experience

- A degree in Risk Management, Project Management and/or a certification in Risk Management (e.g., ERM, IRM, APM, PMQ, MoR).
- Proven experience in Risk Management, with a focus on fostering collaboration and engagement.
- Strong understanding of Risk Management principles, methodologies, and frameworks.
- Excellent and enthusiastic interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams.
- Methodical mindset with the ability to assess complex situations and make risk-based recommendations and decisions.
- Proactive and results-oriented approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- You must be a UK national or have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of five years and must meet the eligibility criteria to gain security clearance.
