Search are delighted to be partnered with a leading firm of lawyers & tax advisors based centrally in Edinburgh to assist in their pursuit to hire a newly created role of risk & compliance manager.

You will work with the Head of Risk & Compliance in developing and implementing a firm wide risk and compliance strategy, managing compliance with applicable legal and regulatory obligations.

Whilst advising the firm and senior management on legal and risk issues affecting the business.

This role will have day to day responsibility for a team of 5, whilst working closely with the Partner group & Legal & Tax fee-earners.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Risk & Compliance in formulating the strategy, vision and values of the risk & compliance function.
  • Provide support in the maintenance and implementation of the risk management strategy including the identification of new/emerging risks.
  • Promote and foster a 'compliance culture' across the whole firm to be a trusted and approachable resource for Partners and employees.
  • Manage the day-to-day workload of the Risk & Compliance team escalating issues as required.
  • Ensure the Firm are aware of their obligations under any terms and conditions under which the firm is authorised by the Law Society of Scotland (LSS) and other relevant bodies such as the SRA to provide legal services.

Salary:

  • £36,000 - £50,000
  • Hybrid working
  • Very strong benefits package
