Job Title: Specialist Children's Support Worker

Location: Neath, Port Talbot, and surrounding areas

Salary: £14.50 to £18 per hour (days and nights)

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Specialist Children's Support Worker.

Role Overview: As a Specialist Children's Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people residing in residential children's homes. You will work closely with a dedicated team to create a safe and nurturing environment for children who require additional support due to their complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing emotional and practical support to young people with complex mental health needs, challenging behaviours, and childhood trauma.
  • Building positive relationships with young people, promoting their well-being and independence.
  • Implementing care plans and therapeutic interventions under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assisting with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, personal care, and recreational activities.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months experience in residential children's care.
  • Understanding of the issues faced by young people with complex needs, including mental health challenges and childhood trauma.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a driver with a valid driver's license.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
