Residential Childcare Worker
Salary: £24,702 - £27,803 FTE (pro-rated)
Location: Sudbury, Suffolk CO10
Job Type: Temporary to Permanent, Part-time (2-5 days per week, negotiable split shifts)

A busy SEMH provision in Sudbury, is seeking dedicated Residential Childcare Worker to join our team. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong commitment to supporting and caring for children and young people with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The academy offers a unique residential provision that has been rated Good by Ofsted and is currently on a path of rapid investment, growth, and development.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Work on a rota basis with variable start and finish times, including split shifts.
  • Provide care and support to boys aged between 8 and 14 years old with SEMH needs.
  • Communicate effectively with both adults and young people.
  • Maintain a calm and positive environment under pressure.
  • Work collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Show dedication and initiative in your approach to work.
  • Participate in sleep-in duties on a rota basis as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Good standard of English and Maths (GCSE grade 5 or equivalent).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills with adults and young people.
  • Positive team player with a dedicated work ethic.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Keen to learn and capable of working independently.
  • Reliable, cooperative, flexible, and enthusiastic.
