Regional Maintenance Surveyor

Location: Agile / Boston

Salary: £40,387 per annum

As a Regional Maintenance Surveyor, you will be responsible for ensuring the In-House Repairs Service is delivered to their customers in line with their vision and values, you will ensure all surveying, servicing, inspections, installations, repairs (whether in customers’ homes, void properties, or on the estates or schemes) or other works are delivered right first time, safely, in line with their repairs and voids policies and within their budget parameters.

You will provide high quality, accurate and measured advice, diagnostics, works specifications, contract procurement and management, works orders and customer support for the complete range of building defects, remediations, repairs, maintenance, improvements and any other works required to their customers’ homes, their schemes and estates and their other property assets ensuring that the company's operational and commercial targets are met.

What will I be asked to do as a Regional Maintenance Surveyor?

  • You will deliver the Regional Surveying service providing high quality, accurate and measured advice, diagnostics, works specifications, contract procurement and management, works orders, customer support for the complete range of building defects, remediations, repairs, maintenance, improvements, and any other works required to their customers’ homes, their schemes and estates and their other property assets.
  • You will provide this service to occupied and void homes as required. You will work safely to the policies and procedures of the company and ensure that operational and commercial targets are met whilst putting the customer first.
  • You will operate in an area that is coterminous with colleagues in the Customer Directorate and you will form a strong professional working relationship with these colleagues, colleagues in the Customer Service Centra, colleagues throughout the In-House Repairs Service, the Property Directorate and the company and be the Go To colleague for all technical building and building safety issues in your region.
  • You will ensure that their customers, their visitors, colleagues, contracts, suppliers and the public safe and that the work you order and specify is undertaken in compliance with all the company'’s safe systems of work and risk assessments and that dynamic risk assessments are carried out as the situation requires.
  • You will ensure that no unsafe situation and that no situation that could constitute a risk of Harm to their customers or any other party is left without immediate and appropriate action being taken to mitigate this risk, this may include emergency or temporary works or the rehousing of customers or other parties, this will be arranged and supervised by you.
  • You will maintain appropriate personal certification to be able to undertake your duties.

What skills, attributes and experience will I need as a Regional Maintenance Surveyor?

  • BTEC Level 3 in a surveying, construction, maintenance or other suitable operational subject (or equivalent) with at least two years’ experience of a similar role in a similar environment that demonstrates a clear ability to carry out this role
  • Minimum two years’ experience of surveying or other technical role in social housing development, asset management or a maintenance either with a client function, with an in-house service or a contractor.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment where planning, organising, prioritising and multi-tasking are required
  • Significant technical understanding of the construction and maintenance requirements of domestic housing in the UK.
  • Significant understanding of the requirements of building safety legislation and the technical requirements of legislation, guidance or other requirements.
  • Significant understanding of the requirements of the Regulator for Social Housing and the Housing Ombudsman and the legislation, standards, guidance and other requirements the company as a registered provider is required to adhere to.
  • Exceptional organisation skills with attention to detail
  • Significant experience of a similar role in a similar environment that demonstrates a clear ability to carry out this role. (there is no specific time requirement for this, but you will be able to demonstrate a clear ability to carry out this role through prior experience).
  • Numerate with strong analytical skills
