About Achieving for Children: Established in 2014 by the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, Achieving for Children has been entrusted to deliver children's services on behalf of both local authorities. In August 2017, the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead also became a partner. Our Independent Fostering Agency (IFA) was launched in August 2018, achieving a "Good" rating in all areas upon inspection in June 2023.

About the Role: As the Regional Fostering Lead, you will play a vital role in expanding our fostering placement sufficiency and stability through the regional recruitment hub. Reporting to the Head of Fostering, you will serve as the lead link to the regional and sub-cluster recruitment aspect, attending meetings, assisting with expansion, conducting initial visits of prospective carers, and providing support to inquiry services. You will also supervise the recruitment support officer and ensure compliance with fostering regulations.

About You: To thrive in this role, you must be passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. We are seeking a flexible, communicative team player with:

  • 3+ years of experience as a senior social worker or team leader
  • Profound knowledge of Children Act 1989 and 2004, Fostering Regulations, and National Minimum Standards
  • Experience in assessment writing, including Form F and Form C
  • Strong communication skills to explain professional reasoning and decisions constructively
  • Additionally, you should possess a professional social work qualification recognized by Social Work England and maintain active registration with evidence of continuing professional development.
