Teacher of RE

Prospero Teaching are working closely with an Ofsted rated 'Good' secondary school located in Fareham, Hampshire.

The school have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Education to join a friendly and supportive department from September 2024 to May 2025 for a period of maternity cover.

Applications from both experienced and Early Career Teachers are encouraged and a comprehensive ECT support package would be available, if appropriate.

The school pride themselves on their broad and balanced curriculum, with a traditional culture of academic rigour and a programme of phenomenal co-curricular opportunities for all pupils. In their most recent Ofsted report (2019) inspectors observed that "Pupils are supported well in this school… Pupils' behaviour is good. Pupils are respectful to each other around the school. Most pupils are focused and pay attention to their teachers during lessons."

Applications welcome from early careers teacher (ECTs), as well as MPS and UPS teachers.

CONTRACT DETAILS

  • Location - Fareham, Hampshire
  • Position - Teacher of RE
  • Start date - September 2024
  • Contract duration - until May 2025 (maternity cover)
  • Full time/part time - Full-time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Paid to scale (negotiable)
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 3pm, plus parents' evenings and department meetings

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year teaching experience in the UK
  • Up-to-date safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service, or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last 2 years
