Lead Bioprocess Development and Shape the Future of Recombinant Proteins

Are you a passionate R&D scientist with expertise in bioprocess development and a desire to push the boundaries of scientific exploration?

We are seeking a talented individual to join a new Center of Excellence as an R&D Scientist.

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in:

  • Leading bioprocess development for the production of recombinant proteins using E. coli and yeast systems.
  • Supporting the implementation of our New Product Development (NPD) roadmap through innovative bioprocess strategies.
  • Providing hands-on technical leadership for complex projects, including proof-of-concept demonstrations, Design of Experiments (DOE), and troubleshooting.
  • Optimising, validating, and scaling-up fermentation processes from lab to large-scale production.
  • Collaborating with strategic customers to understand and address their needs.
  • Championing technology transfer by preparing documentation and facilitating outsourcing activities.
  • Identifying and implementing new technologies and equipment to propel our R&D programs forward.
  • Leading a small team of scientists and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Maintaining meticulous records and conducting/overseeing process analyses.
  • Authoring key documents like dossiers, SOPs, and technical reports.
  • Staying abreast of current advancements in the field of protein expression and purification.

Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in bioprocess development and downstream recovery of recombinant proteins from E. coli and/or yeast.
  • Experience in optimising, validating, and scaling-up fermentation processes.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
  • Strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., BBI).
