Salary – up to £60k Experience Pending 

Full time – 40 hrs per week

The Recruitment Group is working with a respected national homebuilder with an established reputation for building outstanding quality affordable housing.

Purpose of the Quantity Surveyour role:

The Quantity Surveyor plays a crucial role in the construction and project management process, ensuring accurate cost estimation, budgeting, and financial control throughout the lifecycle of a construction project. This professional collaborates closely with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to optimise project costs and deliver successful outcomes. The Quantity Surveyor's responsibilities encompass cost analysis, risk assessment, and contractual management, contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of construction projects.

Main duties and responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyour

  • Client Valuations.
  • Monthly client meetings.
  • Collating on-site information for clients.
  • Variation pricing etc.
  • Handover Packs with Technical Coordinator & site manager
  • Completing monthly accruals for accounts cost reports, then completing CVR prior to deadline.
  • Procuring all subcontract and labour only trades & comparing packages prior to placing orders
  • Pre-Qualification questionnaires in place, with all insurances, health & safety docs saved to Procore.
  • Placing orders correctly and efficiently prior at least 2 weeks prior to required start date.
  • Report cost to directors, reporting on cost to completes for each section.
  • Completing subcontractor payments and tracking spends.
  • Final Accounts. o Delay Notices/ Etc where required.
  • Liaising with subcontractors and site team for problems etc.
  • Information collation for Building Control/NHBC etc. With the site manager/contacts manager.
  • Answering any queries/ completing tasks required by the site team, trades, or office colleagues.
  • Attending site meetings and answering queries raised in a timely manner.
  • Completing client valuation before/ on the clients specified date.
  • Aid commercial director for land viabilities and budgets setting for each new project.

Experience/knowledge requirements for Quantity Surveyor

  •  Degree in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Previous Experience in Quantity Surveying or similar.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (mainly Word and Excel).
  • Advanced negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Team orientated, with strong relationship and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure.
  • Exposure and conceptual understanding of contract law and pricing.
  • Strong commercial acumen and business understanding.
  • Ability to manage both internal and customer relationships
