Quantity Surveyor - Highways

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Location: Chelmsford

My client is a Major Tier 1 contractor on a high-profile prestigious highways framework looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in Chelmsford. The scope of works is primarily civils and drainage, with some kerbing. You will be using NEC4 so proficiency in NEC4 is essential.

Benefits:

• £45,000 - £50,000 per annum - dependent on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of change control mechanisms using CEMAR (familiarity preferred)
• Project cost estimation, analysis, and reporting
• Contractual negotiation and administration
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success
• Quantity surveying duties as per project requirements

Requirements:

• Demonstrable experience in a similar role, ideally within highways or civil engineering
• Proficiency in NEC4 contracts, with a focus on Option C
• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related field
